Planning the best solution that fits our client's needs
ADP Ingénierie is responsible for a proportion of the preliminary studies for this project, with particular focus on the master plan for the airport. The production of a detailed master plan has enabled the announcement of a competition for solutions to extend the passenger terminal at Chongqing airport.
With a population of approximately 15 million, Chongqing is a major city of essential importance to the development of central China. Having commissioned a number of master plans for the extension of the airport, the airport authorities took the decision to begin a new programme of studies and designs in 2009.
Working in partnership with the University of Tsinghua, ADP Ingénierie (ADPI) contributed to the programme of studies and designs for the expansion of the airport to achieve a capacity of around 70 million passengers per year. The goal of the programme iwas to create a terminal at reasonable cost, whilst fulfilling the ambition of Chongqing to become the Shanghai of western China.
