Master plan review of Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu. Design of terminal buildings and associated infrastructures
ADP Ingénierie (ADPI) was able to combine a modern design with an environmentally friendly airport. There was a strong working relationship between the company’s team and the local authorities.
The client needs to expand Kathmandu International Airport with a new International Terminal Building to accommodate the level of traffic they are experiencing. This infrastructure is necessary due to the significant increase in service quality that the airport must deliver in response to the increase in passenger traffic in recent years.
- The client requested the design of a new international terminal with a capacity of 7.5 MPPA. And the design for the refurbishment of the existing international terminal to turn it into the domestic terminal.
- In addition to the terminal buildings, the client requested the design of a VVIP building, a cargo terminal and the Nepal Airlines maintenance hangar.
- The client wished to have the detailed design for all the infrastructure projects to facilitate the call for tenders for construction, and benefit from engineering collaboration with the construction firm in charge of the project.
Our solution consisted of deploying a group of experts on site, with the local authorities’ team. They worked on site with this team for several months to ensure the necessary coordination between all disciplines ran smoothly. With regular meetings with the client.
