Jomo Kenyatta International Airport runway rehabilitation
ADP INGÉNIERIE's experience in aeronautical infrastructure works has been critical for the project and the continuity of safe operations since the project was performed on a fully operational platform. Close coordination with Sinohydro and the operator was essential.
It has been almost 20 years since the last rehabilitation of the runway by the Kenyan Airport Authority, the only runway of Nairobi's international airport has severely deteriorated. Based on this fact, KAA initiated the procedure for preparing and carrying out the pavement rehabilitation works.
ADP INGÉNIERIE performed a technical review of a previous report submitted by consulting company. After which, the client was able to launch its call for tenders. After the bid was processed with the support of the ADP INGÉNIERIE teams, a project supervision team was set up in Nairobi for the duration of the works. The rehabilitation works for the 4,200m runway were exclusively done at night time and the runway was put back into service every morning.
