Design and supervision of the control tower and associated technical block for the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport of Mauritius
ADP Ingénierie (ADPI) has a strong track record in control tower design and the modernization of air navigation and weather systems.
The client needed to comply with local standards, analyze the layout of the existing control tower in Mauritius and propose a concept for improving the distribution of control stations, to reduce the controllers' workload by increasing the number of control stations.
- The client wanted to improve controllers’ visibility by positioning the control tower so as to minimize what the terminal building conceals.
In full coordination and cooperation with the civil aviation authority of Mauritius, the ADP Ingénierie architects and engineers came up with the concept and created the preliminary design (architecture, structure, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and environmental) for the tower and technical block. The final design and tender phase were entrusted to 3 local subcontractors.
