Airbus A400M final assembly plant. Overall project management
The central feature of the plant is the A400M FAL (Final Assembly Line), which consists of a series of interconnected workstations, inside a single volume, going from taking delivery of main components parts directly inside the FAL, to the aircraft component installation and assembly workstations. The constraints imposed by the manufacturing processes used required a series of precise functional developments to optimize flows and the use of space. The offices and hangar support workshops are located in the canyon adjoining the A400M FAL. The flagship administration building is located at the entrance to the plant. Design include the external areas, with the logistic area and aeronautical stands.
The new Airbus A400M military transport aircraft is assembled in Seville by EADS Casa. The Spanish aircraft manufacturer has built a new plant for this purpose, which also houses other development activities for its own product range (Casa 295, Casa 235, etc.). After a competition, the design of this plant was awarded to a Franco-Spanish consortium in which ADP Ingénierie (ADPI) is the project architect.
ADP Ingénierie provided design management and contributed to supervising construction work on the project.
