Press Conference / New Beijing-Daxing International Airport

Published on

Groupe ADP held a press conference this morning, July 9th at the Four Seasons in Beijing, during a visit of the new Beijing-Daxing airport by the French Ambassador to China.

This press conference was held in front of thirty journalists, many of whom wanted to know more about this airport designed by ADP Ingénierie. Gratien Maire, CEO of ADP Ingénierie, with Jean-Yves Coulot, who is in charge of developing our activities in China, and Jean-Charles Content, one of the architects of this extraordinary project, recalled the main stages of the project and the contribution of our teams to the design of the passenger terminal and the emblematic character of this new infrastructure in accordance with our vision of the airport of tomorrow. In particular, the building has the unique feature – like never seen so far in the world - of having two departure levels and two levels of arrival and uses natural light to guide passengers in their various journeys.

The upcoming opening of this infrastructure looks as spectacular as was the construction phase. With initially four runways and 268 aircraft parking spaces, Beijing-Daxing is expected to accommodate 72 million passengers by 2025 and up to 100 million by 2040 with seven runways.
