Groupe ADP will design and build vertiports to accommodate future flying taxis

Published on

During the Paris Air Show, Groupe ADP announced a partnership with RATP and Airbus for the development of an agnostic solution capable of accommodating different types of flying taxis.

This partnership, which reinforces the highly ambitious approach of innovation of Groupe ADP and its subsidiaries, marks these vehicles and new means of mobility in Île-de-France in the very near future. Groupe ADP, thanks to its subsidiary ADP Ingénierie, has developed a concept of modular vertiport with mobile platforms. These different platforms move and allow to board or unload passengers while accommodating other vehicles at the same time. In addition, the structure can accommodate different types of vehicles.

Groupe ADP, thanks to its network of infrastructures in Paris, is giving itself 18 months to build a first vertiport and to experiment the concept in real conditions.

Between the helicopter and the taxi, the partners must now specify the appropriate business model to allow this solution to find its place in the landscape of daily mobility.
