A few months before starting operations, the new Beijing Daxing International Airport opens its doors on this tuesday, 9th, to a French delegation led by Mr. Jean-Maurice RIPERT, the French ambassador in China. Gratien Maire is present by his side to discover the full extent of this gigantic project.

After being declared winner of the design contest, ADP Ingénierie (ADPI) finalized the project with the help of Zaha Hadid Architects, within a team led by BNAH. ADP Ingénierie has also cooperated with the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design (BIAD) to provide ongoing support throughout the design development phase.

Beijing's Daxing Airport offers a unique two-storey terminal design that allows to concentrate all control processes while reducing walking distances for passengers.

Covering an area of 700,000 sqm, surrounded by 7 runways, the terminal will accommodate 45 million passengers in phase 1 and 75 million passengers in phase 2. Its innovative design aims to facilitate the absorption of the future increase in traffic while privileging the passenger experience.

By placing the passenger in the heart of the airport, this iconic project proudly illustrates our vision of the airport of tomorrow.
