On September, 17th, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) of the Sultanate of Oman officially opened the new Duqm Airport Passenger Terminal Building.

The construction works at Duqm Airport Package 3 have been completed and the new PTB started operations the day of the opening. The 4,000m runway was opened on July, 23rd 2014. Duqm Airport Package 3 included the new PTB, a new 37m high ATC tower, a new Fire Station and several ancillary buildings. Project Management was provided by the ADP Ingénierie Oman team while the re-design had been done by the team in Dubai back in 2013.

The PTB is approximately 5,600sqm large for an overall capacity of 0.5 Mppa. Duqm traffic skyrocketed due to the successful operations of SEZAD (Special Economic Zone Authority - Duqm) which includes inter alia one of the largest dry-docks in the region. Duqm is a strategical harbour as it offers the possibility to avoid the Strait of Hormuz and is becoming a prominent place in front of Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Qatar…

ADP Ingénierie has been present in Oman since 2006 providing PMC services for Muscat International and Salalah Airports, PMC services for Regional Airports and Design services for Regional Airports Package 3. Services have recently been extended till end of 2019.
