ADP Ingénierie achieves the Standard 3 upgrade of the BHS at LuxAirport

Published on

Luxembourg Airport is adapting with new European Regulation 2015/1998 on aviation security by upgrading its facilities to comply with Advanced Screening Standard 3.

ADP Ingénierie (ADPI) System teams successfully met the challenge of this project. Indeed, in addition to its complexity, this mission was carried out in a terminal in operation. ADP Ingénierie brought its great expertise in EDS Std3 upgrade, BHS and security procedures. Our ability to manage the relationships between the airport's internal and external stakeholders was a major asset for the success of this mission.

According to René Steinhaus, CEO of lux-Airport: "Moving and overhauling our BHS system can be compared to open-heart surgery; you replace a system while the rest of the body must continue to function as normal. Moving the entire baggage handling system was certainly a challenge, and meeting that challenge was made possible thanks to the exceptional cooperation and collaboration of the various teams".

The first part of the baggage handling system is now compliant and operational. The next step, the second half of the baggage handling system, will be launched soon and will be completed in 2021.
