4.3 billion Air passengers in 2018

4.3 billion Passengers have flown in 2018 according to ICAO. An annual increase of 6.1%. It is slightly less than last year: the rising fuel prices has limited the impact of the low-cost tickets offer.

Europe remains the first international air market with 37% market shares. But APAC registered the strongest increase: 7.3%.

Low-cost airlines have grown more significantly than the world average increase. They perform their strongest growth in Europe (36% traffic alone). Are following Latin America (35%) and North America (30%), then Asia-Pacific (29%).

Despite the rising fuel prices, airlines should register significant financial results in 2018.
