Final assembly line for KC-45-A of Airbus. Master plan
Airbus is part of a consultation with Northrop Grumman for the USAF, to produce an aircraft final assembly line. The aircraft named KC-45-A would be developed on the base of the A330 and assembled at Mobile Airport, in Alabama. Airbus therefore has entrusted an initial task to the Technip TPS-ADPI partnership.
ADPI is in charge of the master plan studies and the outside works drawings, program study and project management assistance.
ADPI is also in charge of services linked to the layout plan and external works, as well as support for architectural and engineering studies.
The first phase consisted of the program and layout plan drawings. It ended with the USAF decision last February 2008 for the KC-45-A chosen.
The second phase consists in assistance for the launch of consultations with the various service providers depending on the operation assemblage process designed by Airbus.
